Het kunstenaarsarchief bevat opmerkelijk veel foto’s. Dit komt door de persoonlijke relatie die Jef Verheyen had met fotografen als Frank Philippi, Filip Tas of Gérald Dauphin. De verzameling bevat installatiefoto’s, vernissagefoto’s, kunstenaarsportretten, reisfoto’s, atelierfoto’s alsook reproducties van schilderijen, vaak in zwart-wit. De foto’s zijn van groot belang voor de identificatie van kunstwerken, gebeurtenissen en contacten van de kunstenaar.
